Joonatan Rautiola is Lecturer in saxophone music and responsable of saxophones at the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki, a position that he holds since 2017, having been a teacher at the university since the year 2012. His exclusive, international saxophone studio consists of 8-9 students coming from various horizons.
SaxibA ensemble, the Sibelius Academy saxophone collective, performs in different venues in Finland and abroad, with imaginative concert programs including original works and transcriptions for saxophones, and has premiered new compositions by Antonin Servière and Josué Moreno. SaxibA ensemble rehearses and performs without a conductor, with Joonatan Rautiola as a member of the group.
